Rotary Joint for Metal Rolling Coilers – Gas Service
Gas transfer to the rotating coiler drum at 50 MPa and 350 rpm
Overview
Metal rolling coilers take strip or plate off the mill stand and wind it into coils — a duty that places a continuously rotating drum inside the process gas circuit. This rotary joint was engineered for that interface: it transfers gas to the coiler drum at pressures up to 50 MPa and speeds up to 350 rpm, with a housing temperature limit of 230°C that must not be exceeded under any operating condition. High-pressure gas service on a fast-rotating drum leaves no margin for seal failure, so the joint is built around robust sealing and precise balancing. Ruitus supplies it as a project-matched unit — share your coiler model, gas type and line data, and we will configure bore, connections and sealing accordingly.
