RT-QT — Spherical Rotary Joint for Walking Beam Furnaces
Key component for walking beam furnace evaporative cooling systems
Overview
The RT-QT is the spherical rotary joint at the heart of walking beam furnace evaporative cooling systems: it connects the cooling components that perform periodic movements to the stationary piping, accommodating both rotation and angular oscillation in one seal. It is a key component of the furnace — when it fails, the cooling circuit fails with it.
The sealing sphere is stainless steel, polished and hardened for a mirror-smooth running surface; the sealing element uses PPL (Polyphenylene) for superior wear resistance and high-temperature tolerance. The joint seals water, steam or superheated water at up to 4.0 MPa / 350 °C, with a 30° maximum swing angle on the low-speed shaft and flanges to JB/TB2/1-94.
Selection keys on the duty: medium (water / steam / superheated water), pressure, temperature, swing angle and flange standard. Send the furnace cooling-circuit drawing or the old joint dimensions and we confirm the matching execution. The spherical face design forgives the slight misalignments that accumulate as furnace structures heat and move.
As critical furnace spares, RT-QT joints and seal kits are kept on a fast lane: standard components ship in 3–15 days after order confirmation (MOQ 1 unit), with outage-critical orders prioritised during furnace maintenance campaigns. Custom executions are scheduled per the quotation. Built under ISO 9001:2015 for steel plants in 70+ countries.
